Adi Da can’t heal himself:  Herpes, Glaucoma and Resurrection

Posted by Bobby on Nov-4-99

I was just wondering within myself how plausible it is that The Master simultaneously has the power to resurrect dead houseflies (as I read in a lila somewhere) and little girls (as attested to by Dr Bakker in the 1985 Today show coverage), yet cannot or will not heal himself of herpes? Is it because he can't bear to forgo the opportunity of serving others by giving vaginal prasad or whatever he called it? Yes, I'm very sure his herpes is a teaching demonstration, and nothing more. Whew, for a minute there I thought I would have to doubt Him.

Our best pal and "avatar of the oozing lesions", the world's foremost dildo and coke bottle sodomizer, and the number one burner of women's backs with cigars (oops, I mean miraculous healer with shakti energy shooting from his fingers), Fat Frank, can't seem to get rid of his glaucoma or his herpes. Maybe he just doesn’t give a shit about his own body-mind, being such a selfless SOB.  He's probably holding off on that cure for the sake of his devotees, since serving devotees is his only motivation for everything he does, as we all know. If he cured himself of herpes he couldn’t give it as prasad any more, and where would that leave all those women who need to work through their cunt karma?  Most likely his glaucoma is the manifestation of him bearing the karma for his devotees "lack of vision," because his own spiritual vision is certainly perfectly clear as we all know (yeah, right), and as he says these diseases are always psycho-physical and a sign of something deeper.

I was thinking the other day that Fat Boy may have caused himself a lot of problems by doing poppers (Rush, amyl nitrate) for so many years, since poppers are a real "no - no" for those with glaucoma. Poppers exacerbate pressure buildup in the eyes, but of course “Adi Da” should be immune to this type of effect due to his magical powers, rumored to be more potent than Superman, Batman, and the Easter Bunny put together.

What went wrong?

I'm sorry that Adi Da and all of the rest of us living beings are experiencing such great suffering, but the fact of that suffering doesn't really affect the arguments JR and I are espousing. Does it?

Adi Da claims to be the Godhead in person, having acquired the body-mind of Franklin Jones to the point that there is no more Franklin Jones, but only a body-mind perfectly submitted to the Godhead. How does this square with his physical illness? The only consistent answer is to say that it's his devotees and other people's fault. Which is, I believe, what he does say about his illness, isn't it? Someone who knows better than I should inform us here.

I do know that this was the same line adopted by Mary Baker Eddy who founded Christian Science. She taught that all sickness was an illusion of "mortal mind," and that she could raise the dead and heal all illnesses whatsoever. Yet she suffered from many bodily conditions throughout her life. She explained it by saying that her enemies and even her disciples were transferring bad energy to her. How gullible does someone have to be to swallow this? How much a priori investment do they have to have in the idea that this leader is a divine teacher, rather than open their minds to the other obvious alternative explanation, which is that they are making this up to protect their income and status, etc?
