Satirical Rebuttal to Daist Explanation of Adi Da’s Refusal to Meet With Upset Ex-Members in 1985 Posted by “translator” in 1999
Daist: I’m sure that if you met with Adi Da, then or now, you would have done exactly that - conduct an offensive “purgation of your soul” mixed with this same projection of evil onto Adi Da and His devotees, which is exactly why you didn’t get the meeting in the first place. Catch-22. Translation: Adi Da only talks to people who are totally deluded by immersion in his mythology and worship every word of his. If you don't meet this criteria, and might disagree with him, he won't talk to you. Daist: When they no longer approached Him as devotees, He had nothing to Work with in them. Translation: Adi Da only talks to people who are totally deluded by immersion in his mythology and worship every word of his. If you don't meet this criteria, and might disagree with him, he won't talk to you. Daist: In the spiritual sense, they were not the same people (when they wanted to meet with him in 1985). Translation: They no longer met the criteria above. Daist: the simple fact is, Adi Da didn’t then and doesn’t now meet or Work with anyone who does not approach in the attitude of respect and devotion. Translation: None required. Daist: Yes, Adi Da could have simply decided to bridge that gap, but He decided not to - wisely, I think. Translation: Sounds like a great choice to me. Many months of seclusion, negative media worldwide, a nervous breakdown, upset devotees, tons of legal fees, a ruined reputation for life. Wise decision. Daist: In retrospect I frankly do not see how a reconciliation could have been accomplished in any case. Translation: Stopping the Gulf War was a piece of cake, but this deal was oh so much harder. And this is the One who’s going to save the world? Daist: What Mark and others wished to criticize Him for He felt no remorse over, How could you possibly know what they would have said or how he would have responded? He has never been in that situation before. You seem awfully quick to put words in your teacher's mouth, and ascribe motives, etc. to him that you are just making up. Look back at your posts for the last month. You show clear evidence of fabricating all kinds of chronologies and events and motives for people you don't know. Your credibility is for shit. Daist: And yes, you are right that I ascribe egoic motives to both dissidents and Daists, but not to Adi Da. You may find that unfair, but I have just never found any ego at all to Adi Da, Translation: I am blinded by this stupid cult mythology that leads me to distort my perceptions and apply a totally different standard to a very narrow range of my experience, the part that is closely associated with Adi Da. Daist: And I’d suggest that to understand Adi Da for clearly we would each have to go through that chaotic crucifixion of mind and emotion. Translation: Unless you buy an immense pile of irrational beliefs that require you to crucify your rational thought processes in relation to Adi Da, and unless you are willing to crucify your conflicted emotional responses to him that tell you there is something wrong, you can't understand Adi Da.
